Alzheimer’s Association – Each year Lia supports the Alzheimer’s Association in support of various walks and their annual gala, “An Evening to Remember”. The Association’s mission is to lead the way to end Alzheimer’s and all other dementia by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support. To date, Lia has given $10,000 in sponsorship dollars to fund various research efforts and will provide more funding towards walks in the regions where Lia resides.

American Cancer Society – Lia has been a strong supporter of the American Cancer Society for many years and continues to donate and fundraise for a cure of this all too common disease. Throughout the year Lia sponsors various galas and parties such as The Gala of Hope, the Red White and Blue party and Coaches vs. Cancer. Our dealerships take on the challenge of fundraising for the Real Men Wear Pink Campaign and employees participate actively as Chairs of the organization. The mission of the American Cancer Society is to improve the lives of people with cancer and their families through advocacy, research, and patient support, to ensure everyone has an opportunity to prevent, detect, treat, and survive cancer. This year Lia is contributing $35,000 in towards the events and plans to raise $20,000 in fundraising efforts through the Real Men Wear Pink initiative.

American Red Cross – Each year Lia supports the American Red Cross through sponsorship of the Fire & Ice Gala. Additionally, this year, Lia Toyota of Colonie participated in the Capital Region Chapter’s Blood Battle and won, getting the most blood donations amongst some fierce competitors! The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. They are always there in times of need through their strong network of volunteers, donors and partners. Lia gave $5,000 to the American Red Cross this year to help fund their mission.

Baystate Health Foundation – Baystate’s mission is to improve the health of the people in their community every day, with quality and compassion, and with a focus on quality, safety, value, and experience. They are proud to be the region’s only Children’s Miracle Network Hospital (CMN). It is also the only accredited full-service children’s hospital in western Massachusetts, and provides primary and advanced medical care to babies, children, and adolescents and their families. Lia Toyota of Wilbraham sponsored the radiothon again this year with a $15,000 donation.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hampshire County – Once again Lia Toyota of Northampton donated $5,000 to the BBBS of Hampshire County going towards the Daffodil Run. The proceeds from this run help in the BBBS in their quest to help families make important connections and gain access to vital resources. They do this by matching adult volunteers (“Bigs”) with kids ages 6 to 18 (“Littles”). Through these meaningful one-to-one mentoring matches, they help children build their futures and strengthen communities. Together with parents/guardians, volunteer mentors, and our partners in the community, their professional Case Managers support young people as they develop positive relationships.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rockland County – Lia Toyota of Rockland once again supported Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rockland County. BBBS of Rockland County is a full-service, award-winning organization that holds the gold standard in youth mentoring and servicing “at-risk” youth throughout Rockland County. They have been the leader in one-on-one youth services for over 30 years. Lia once again donated 10,000, sponsoring their Court ordered supervised visitation program.

Bridges – Bridges is a community based, cross disability, not-for-profit organization dedicated to the advocacy for people with disabilities. They provide peer counseling, independent living skills training, transition support and more. Once again Lia Toyota of Rockland supported this group’s Disabled Veteran’s Transportation program. As in previous years, Lia donated $10,000, and provided a van to be used year-round to transport the disabled to appointments and other needs.

Community Hospice Foundation – This year Lia supported the Community Hospice Foundations, “Swinging on a Star” Gala with a $2,500 sponsorship. The Community Hospice is not so much as a program of services– services that help you to live with dignity, without pain, and in familiar surroundings. They provide services, in your home, in your nursing home, in the hospital, and in the community you’ve always known. You become a part of their family and recipients of their services can expect regular visits from a caring team of professionals who work with your doctors, spiritual advisers and family.

Connecticut Children’s Hospital – Connecticut Children’s Medical Center is a nationally recognized, 187-bed not-for-profit children’s hospital in Hartford, Connecticut. Ranked by Women’s Choice as one of the best children’s hospitals in the nation, we foster a patient- and family-centered environment with a focus on research, education and advocacy. They serve as the primary pediatric teaching hospital for the UConn School of Medicine, has a teaching partnership with the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University and is a research partner of The Jackson Laboratory. Connecticut Children’s welcomes, cares for and protects all children who walk through our doors, and are an institution of acceptance and compassion regardless of nationality or immigration status. This year Lia is the Heroes & Helpers Toy Drop-Off Event, Gold Sponsor at $10,000, and will collect toys at all of our CT locations.

Ring of Hope Boxing Club – Lia gave $2,500 to Ring of Hope this year. Their mission is to provide disadvantaged young men and women with an alternative to drug use, gang violence, hopelessness, and despair. Founded on the principles that physical well-being, moral strength, emotional health, and a hopeful outlook can be nurtured simultaneously. They serve young people with physical fitness programs, mentoring and support, through after school and recreational programs.

Strong Young Minds – The Strong Young Minds program is for all young people (10 – 26 yrs) in Herefordshire. They work with young people to address issues which can have a negative effect on their mental health and wellbeing – things like anxiety, depression, eating difficulties, self-harm, bullying, relationship breakdown, education & employment, low self-esteem, body image and loss. Lia Toyota of Northampton donated $5,000 towards the I am ME Kids Fashion Show and another $5,000 that went to the Black Vivid/ Juneteenth Celebration

Albany Sports Group – Albany Sports Group was established on Dec 23, 2009 as a domestic not-for-profit corporation. Lia sponsored the Signature Pro Am golf tournament on July 19-20 held at Pinehaven Country Club. This is an LPGA Epson Tour Professional tournament and a chance for people to play with one of the best female golfers in the world.

Broadview Cares Foundation – CAP COM Cares, CAP COM Federal Credit Union’s charitable giving organization. Funds raised are distributed to dozens of local nonprofits through grants and other signature giving programs throughout the year. On June 7th, CAP COM Cares hosted their annual charity golf tournament held at Saratoga National Golf Course. Lia Auto Group was a sponsor of this event, contributing $2,500 and a Hole In One vehicle that benefited these local nonprofits.

Capital Region Chamber of Commerce – The Capital Region Chamber’s goal is economic prosperity – for our business members and our community. The Chamber helps build a strong community by connecting our members to people, business and issues important to business success. Their mission is to be a unifying force for progress, leading opportunities for businesses to succeed, and for people and our communities to prosper. Lia Auto Group is a proud member of the Capital Region Chamber.

Centers for Disability – The mission of the Center for Disabilities is to enable and empower people primarily with disabilities, to lead healthy and enriched lives. They annually provide programs and services to over 12,000 individuals as well as provide services for over 300 different diagnoses of disabilities. Their wide range of services under a single umbrella allows them to provide a seamless continuum of care. Lia’s sponsorship of the Siro’s cup again this year as a Finish Line sponsor for $5,900 ultimately helped fund these much needed programs and services.

CM Fox Annual Tournament and Fundraiser – Since 2012, the CM Fox Golf Tournament has raised more than $130,000 for various organizations in the community, including The Ronald McDonald House in Albany NY and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in Latham NY. They collect raffle items for silent and live auctions, and more than a hundred golfers and generous sponsors help make the event possible by donating to the cause and volunteering their time. Lia Auto Group sponsored the event with a $2,500 donation and a Hole in One vehicle

Dake Foundation – Dake Foundation for Children was founded to provide opportunities for children with disabilities to enjoy more independence, inclusion, and fun. They provide funding to benefit children and young adults (under 21) with documented disabilities who reside within an 80 mile radius of Saratoga Springs. Lia donated $5,000 to the Child’s Play 13-Dake Fest, with proceeds going towards the mission.

Danbury War Memorial – The Danbury War Memorial Association is a non-profit recreational and educational facility, located in Rogers Park, Danbury, CT, built to honor the dead, to serve the living- which is also their motto. They do this via donations, memberships, and a conscientious staff. The War Memorial offers a diversified program of indoor activities, a complete fitness center, and a base for community events. Lia Honda of Brewster sponsored the Car & Truck Festival this year at the $5,000 level.

The Food Bank of Western MA – The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts has been feeding our neighbors in need and leading the community to end hunger. They provide food to our members in Berkshire, Franklin, Hampden and Hampshire counties. These independent pantries, meal sites and shelters are on the front lines of emergency food assistance in our region, providing sustenance to individuals, families, seniors, children and people with disabilities (including veterans) to lead healthy and meaningful lives. The Lia Auto Group will be supporting the 14th annual March for the Food Bank joining several local leaders on a 43-mile march from Springfield to Greenfield tapping into community led power to end hunger in Western Massachusetts. This year, food insecurity in Western Massachusetts reached a record high, affecting 41% of households the highest rate of any region in the state. Many families and individuals are facing the impossible choice of paying for food, rent, or medical care.  Lia supported the food bank by donating a check in the amount of $10,000 on Monday, November 20th.

Folds of Honor – The Folds of Honor organization provides life-changing scholarships to the spouses and children of America’s fallen or disabled military and is now expanded to the families of America’s first responders. It’s their honor to empower people from every walk of life through education and the opportunities it creates. Forty-one percent of Folds of Honor scholarships are awarded to minorities, making recipient families as diverse as the country. Lia sponsored the Patriotic Golf Classic this year with a $3,700 sponsorship and a Hole in One vehicle as well as the title sponsor of “An Evening With Lee Brice” concert where our Lia CJDR dealership displayed a patriotic wrapped Jeep. Lia’s total sponsor level was $28,700.

Friends of Karen – Friends of Karen is a lifeline of support for families in the NY Tri-State area. Since 1978, Friends of Karen has guided families caring for a child with a life-threatening illness through their difficult journey. The mission of Friends of Karen is to provide emotional, financial and advocacy support for children with a life-threatening illness and their families in order to help keep them stable, functioning, and able to cope. The organization was started in rted in 1978 with one family; one child, Karen MacInnes; and one inspired woman, Sheila Petersen. Since then, they have assisted more than 18,000 children and their families. This is Lia’s first year of sponsorship. Lia Honda of Brewster is proud to be supporting the Adopt a Family program. They are collecting toys, clothes and gift cards for children in the area for a total of $4,000 in contributions.

Golf for Diabetes – Golf for Diabetes is a golf tournament whose proceeds supporting the American Diabetes Association and Albany Medical Center’s Endocrine Special Programs. The tournament is put on by Kivort Steel. Lia sponsored the tournament at the $5,000 level.

Hammy Rel13f Fund – Lia is a sponsor of the 3rd Annual Hammy Rel13f fund Golf Championship benefitting the cure of Alzheimer’s fund. Lia is the Entertainment Sponsor at the 15th hole and are providing a Hole in One vehicle. Our total sponsorship amount is $5800 BurgerFi is also providing a gift basket.

Jimmy Fund/Hyundai Hope on Wheels – The Jimmy Fund is comprised of community-based fundraising events and other programs that benefit Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s lifesaving mission to provide compassionate patient care and groundbreaking cancer research for children and adults. In 1998 Hyundai and a group of New England-area dealers joined the fight against pediatric cancer by supporting a local initiative to support the Jimmy Fund at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. This activity quickly grew nationwide and soon became Hyundai Hope On Wheels. The generosity of millions of people in Boston and around the world has helped the Jimmy Fund save countless lives and reduce the burden of cancer for patients and families worldwide. The Lia Auto Group donates to the Jimmy Fund each year and in 2023 we donated $6,000. Additionally, Lia Hyundai is proud to take part in the Hyundai Hope on Wheels grant supporting The Melodies Center for Childhood Cancer & Blood Disorders at Albany Medical Center.  The center received a check in the amount of $100,000 which will help provide families of pediatric cancer patients with social and emotional support when their child finishes treatment. Following the check presentation, Melodies Center patients painted their hands and pressed their handprints on a Lia Hyundai Santa Fe to commemorate the event and their brave battles with cancer.  

Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) – Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease that strikes both children and adults suddenly. It has nothing to do with diet or lifestyle. There is nothing you can do to prevent it. And, at present, there is no cure. JDRF is the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes. Lia is highly involved in JDRF year round, sponsoring various events, golf, and walks. This year Lia contributed $18,250 towards a cure for Type 1 Diabetes.

Kevin Guest House – The Kevin House’s mission is to provide a comfortable and supportive home away from home for patients and their families traveling for medical care. Their vision is to be America’s first independent healthcare hospitality house, setting the standard for compassionate guest care. They provide an Environment with Comfort & Dignity, providing ease during a difficult time, creating a culture of preserving dignity, and embracing opportunities to help with empathy & care. Lia Honda of Williamsville is supporting the Kevin House by sponsoring their Supper in the Streets held on September 30th, and the Giving Hearts Series held October 11 and November 19. Their total sponsorship donation is $4,000 and a check presentation will be made in the fall.

Kevin Huerter Foundation – Inaugural Golf Tournament 3000 – Shenendehowa grad and Sacramento Kings guard/forward Kevin Huerter officially launched the foundation “The Kevin Huerter Foundation” with a golf outing at the Edison Club that was held on June 30th. The foundation will give athletic opportunities to children here in the Capital Region and to ensure kids of all abilities can experience the positive impact of sports on their physical, emotional, and social development. . More than 120 people teed off to support the cause.

Leukemia & Lymphoma Society – Each year Lia participates in various Light the Night walks throughout NY, MA and CT with the goal of putting an end to blood cancers. Funds raised through Light The Night allows LLS to fund treatments for patients who are suffering from all forms of blood cancers. Since 2017, LLS has helped advance 85% of the blood cancer treatment options approved by the FDA. So far this year Lia has donated $25,750 to the cause and is continuing to fund raise until the end of the walks in October. During our fundraising efforts this year, Team Lia raised $38,041 making us the #1 corporate fundraising team and #2 overall to date for the Light the Night Walk in the Capital Region.

Music Haven – Capital Region Classical presents and promotes chamber music performances by internationally renowned musicians and talented young artists to deepen the public’s connection to classical music. They produce inspiring, diverse, world-class arts programming not otherwise available in the region at easily accessible community locations. Lia sponsored their Music Have Concert Series at the $2,500 level this year.

Prescott Foundation – The Foundation is focused on ‘living history’ and has a mission to preserve and maintain the heritage and history of World War II aircraft, while giving back and honoring heroes, veterans, and the community. On June 10 the Foundation hosted the Annual “Wings & Wheels” fundraiser as a community event featuring exotic cars, classic cars, vendors, raffles, and vintage aircraft. Lia was the Texan sponsor at $3,500.

Ryder Sports and Entertainment – Lia is sponsoring the Oktoberfest 5K Run & Walk as the Official Auto Sponsor for $2,500. The event supports local charities in the Capital Region. This year the charity is Folds of Honor. Lia will have a pace car in the race.

Safe Passage – advocates work toward safety, healing and justice for the entire community. They are there for everyone who has experienced domestic violence or relationship abuse. Lia Toyota of Northampton is once again the Red Ribbon Sponsor of the Hot Chocolate Run on December 3rd with a sponsor level of $5,000.

Saratoga Hospital Foundation – Saratoga Hospital recognizes the important role that the community plays in philanthropic support. Their mission is to secure gifts in support of Saratoga Hospitals programs and services. The Saratoga Hospital’s Golf Invitational supports the Nursing Scholarship program. This program provides nurses with financial assistance to pursue advanced degrees which ultimately allows them to understand the challenges of today’s healthcare environment and are better equipped to respond with innovative, evidence-based solutions. This year Lia sponsored the Golf Invitational at the $2,500 level and provided a Hole in One vehicle

Town of Enfield – Each year the Town of Enfield, CT provides the community with a 4th of July Celebration run by volunteers. The mission of the Celebration is to provide the residents of Enfield CT and the surrounding communities with a three-.day Fourth of July Celebration at no charge. It includes music, parade, races, demonstrations, kids rides and games and much more. Lia once again sponsored the Town of Enfield’s Fourth of July Celebration as the Official Car Sponsor at $5,000. Lia had vehicles on display and distributed marketing swag. It’s an event the entire community supports and looks forward to each year.

Westfield International Air Show – $5,800 –The 104th Fighter Wing opened its doors to the public for the first time since 2017, hosting acts such as the F-35 Lightning II demonstration team and an F-15C Eagle demonstration, during the Westfield International Air Show, May 13-14, 2023, at Barnes Air National Guard Base, Massachusetts. Lia’s MA and CT dealerships were the Official Automobile sponsor of this event, donating $5,800.

Siena College – Siena College is a learning community advancing the ideals of a liberal arts education, rooted in its identity as a Franciscan and Catholic institution. Lia is a long term supporter of the school, sponsoring Siena Men’s Basketball with a multi-year contract of $25,000 per year. Additionally, we support the Saints Alive! Men’s Basketball Shoot off for $2,500.

Saratoga County Children’s Committee – The Empty Stocking Project is the largest and most widely recognized program of the Saratoga County Children’s Committee. There are hundreds of children living within Saratoga County who are in need of assistance yearly, but the holiday season can be the most trying time of year for parents and caregivers. Our mission is to embody the holiday spirit by helping to provide these families with a joyous holiday. Each year, we are able to provide 900+ children living in Saratoga County with a wonderful holiday season. The project begins early in September, when agencies and schools connect with the parents and caregivers of those looking for assistance. The Saratoga County Children’s Committee then matches “Friends” – community sponsors – with individual children and families. The “Friend” – generous and loyal individuals, corporate and community sponsors are provided with a wish-list and necessities of their child or family. This year Lia Nissan of Saratoga sponsored the Empty Stocking Project with a $3,000 donation. The dealership is also collecting toys for children in need and delivering them in a wrapped Nissan.

Shriner’s Hospitals for Children Springfield -Since opening their first facility in Shreveport, LA in 1922, Shriner’s has focused on improving pediatric care and the quality of life for children. What began as a single hospital is now a world-renowned and beloved healthcare system with locations in three countries and outreach programs to reach more children in more places. Their commitment to improving the lives of children around the world remains evident across the healthcare system. This year the MA and CT Lia dealerships sponsored Cheers for Children as the $10,000 Hero Sponsor. The event featured samplings from the area’s finest restaurants, breweries, wineries, and distilleries. There was also live entertainment, games, a cash bar, and a silent auction.

Thomas Patrick Morrison Foundation – The organizations primary purpose is to make grants to sick children. Lia has historically supported their annual golf tournament an their Fashion for a Purpose. This year our total contribution was $3,000.

Things of my Very Own – Things of My Very Own, Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides crisis intervention services to children impacted by extensive abuse and/or neglect and at-risk of a Child Protective Services intervention. Their goal is to keep children together with non-abusive family members and out of the foster care system, whenever possible. The transition out of an abusive situation is often sudden and unexpected. Rarely is a child able to return home to retrieve belongings prior to their move. Things of My Very Own, Inc. recognizes the need for children to have necessities and things of their very own as soon as possible, so they can begin their healing process. Lia has a proud supporter of this organization over the years. This year the Lia dealerships will actively be collecting and delivering necessities for the children in branded vehicles during the holiday season.
