Power Through The Fun

The Jeep Wrangler 4xe looks like a Wrangler and apparently has the same off-road chops we’ve come to expect from a Wrangler, but its plug-in hybrid engine makes it stand apart from the rest of the Wrangler lineup.

For performance, the Wrangler 4xe powertrain produces a claimed 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque, along with an estimated 50 MPGe and a total range of 400 miles. A PHEV SUV combines a gas engine and an electric motor powered by a battery that can be recharged by plugging it in. With a plug-in hybrid vehicle, you can drive using all-electric power, the gas engine or a combination of both. PHEV technology gives the Wrangler 4xe a boost in torque and traction, while E-Selec driving modes enable you to optimize performance on every ride.

The Wrangler 4xe Selec Modes can tailor the hybrid powertrain to best suit each trip, including daily commutes, longer-distance highway trips, or off-road exploration. In Electric Mode, the Wrangler 4xe uses only battery power—so you can venture into nature with quiet, smooth and seamless starts and stops for minimal impact. Take the top and doors off, when off-roading, and you’re truly one with the many wonders around you.

It also is the most capable and eco-friendly off-road Jeep vehicle – combined with the open-air freedom that only Jeep Wrangler offers.

Charge Up

You can charge the Wrangler 4xe with an in-home charger or at public charging stations. Public charging stations also help make charging simple and convenient and can be found near places like shopping centers, hotels, government offices and other businesses.

How often you charge the Wrangler 4xe depends on how many miles you choose to drive using electric power. Because the Wrangler 4xe has a manufacturer’s estimated total driving range of 400 miles, you’ll find you can take on all kinds of adventures without the need to charge every night. But in-home charging is so convenient that you may also find it’s just as easy to charge up every night and begin the next day fully ready for adventure.

Off-Roading

Jeep has announced that the Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid will start at $49,490 in Sahara trim. The other trim level available, Rubicon, will start at $53,190. To soften the financial blow a federal tax credit of $7,500 is available.
